MORGAN CAR SALES NEWS

Morgan 4/4 Sport

What do you think of the new Morgan 4/4 Sport? Well we love it! We especially like the new styling treatment to the rear where the spare wheel has been removed and the high level brake light faired into the rear panel.  It looks particularly nice in the factory demonstrator colours of gunmetal grey, black wire wheels and tan leather interior.

The 4/4 Sport has the latest Ford 'Sigma' 1600cc engine giving 115bhp, but with weight reduced to 800kg, has a power to weight ratio of 144bhp/tonne! The Morgan 4/4 Sport can be ordered through Techniques with prices starting from £27,000.85 inclusive of VAT.

Our stock of pre owned Morgans is constantly changing so please contact us with your requirements. We can also supply a new Morgan, the waiting list maybe shorter than you think.

SERVICING & REPAIRS NEWS

On any given day we are privileged to welcome a number of beautiful Morgans to our workshop for routine maintenance and repairs. But increasingly, we find that amongst our customers treasured possessions is a rare jewel from Morgan history. Take this month for example.

Morgan +4 Saloon

We have booked in for routine servicing, the unique Morgan +4 Saloon. This stunning car was built in 1952 on a standard +4 chassis. The saloon body was created by Cooper Motor Bodies of Putney for a private customer who demanded more comfort over the standard +4. In effect, it was the AeroMax of the 1950's. However, unlike the Aeromax, the saloon remained a one off, and to this day, remains unique in Morgan history.

Morgan +4+

We have also booked in a Morgan +4+ for body and paint work. The Morgan +4+ was built between November 1964 and February 1967 and was Peter Morgan's response to falling sales of the traditional model. The car had a glass fibre body constructed by EB Plastics Ltd of Stoke on Trent and is the only Morgan to-date built from this material. The underpinnings are pure Morgan +4. Only 26 examples of this stunning car were built, as sales were slow. Morganeers of the day were not yet ready for a closed Morgan coupe – how the Aeromax has changed all that!! We currently maintain five Morgan +4+ for our customers so you are very likely to see one of these rare cars during your visit to Techniques.

You may find other rare cars on your visit to Techniques be it a Morgan SLR, Morgan +4 SuperSports, Morgan AeroMax or the 1939 Le Mans Morgan 4-4, currently under restoration. We extend a warm welcome to all Morgan owners and will be proud to give you a tour of our workshops

Techniques Trophy for 4 Cylinder Morgans 8-9th August 2009

2008 TT

The Techniques Trophy for 4 cylinder Morgans will again be up for grabs at the hugely popular Bentley Drivers Club race meeting at Silverstone. Currently, the race is earmarked for the weekend of 8-9 August. This will be the 4th running of the TT and heralds the largest gathering of racing Morgan 4 cylinder cars anywhere in the UK. We keep the regulations as open as possible but would prefer all cars to be normally aspirated and slick tyres are not allowed. To date, the race has been won by a historic Morgan +4 (TR engine), a later Morgan +4 (Rover engine) and a Morgan 4/4 (Ford engine).

Please contact Brian or Tracy for further information and to register your interest.

MSCC Track Day Mallory Park 18th April 2009

Mallory Park Tarck Day

The MSCC Track Day is scheduled for Saturday 18th April at Mallory Park. As in previous years, Techniques will be in attendance with our race support vehicle to give participants a helping hand. This is an excellent day for Morgan owners to try out their Morgans on the track. Many are surprised of the Morgan's tenacious road holding and it's the only real place where a Morgan can be driven to its limit in relative safety. We look forward to seeing you there.

Techniques Historic Motor Racing Support

Historic Plus 4

For the last few years, we have been supporting our historic race customers competing all over Europe. Whereas we maybe better known for our successes at Le Mans Classic, you maybe surprised to learn that we have more recently been on hand at Spa, Zandvoort and Porto.

Racing overseas is great fun and offers the chance to race on world famous circuits, often against world famous cars. However, it can be more expensive and requires much planning and forethought. The worst scenario is for the car to fail in qualifying or even scrutineering and all that time and money has gone to waste. We are proud of the fact that we have managed to get all our customers' Morgans to the finishing line in every overseas event we have attended. Long may this record continue!!

This year, we will again be travelling to some of the major overseas historic race meetings. We are currently planning our schedule and are open to suggestions to accommodate any significant interest in any given race meeting. We ask that you contact us with your race plans and to discuss whether you would like to take advantage of our expertise.
